Perhaps that is the most popular car in that segment. In India, the Maruti 800 is the most stolen car. I was seeing the statistics of stolen cars in Delhi-NCR the other day and it was staggering. I wonder what the numbers would be countrywide.

Is the Honda Civic that good a car? Or is it easier to steal it than others? Or is it just that there are so many of them in the US that it is simply difficult to trace them? By the way good to see that car thefts are declining there.

Japanese cars are easier to steal than American or German cars. The safety mechanism is very poor. When a thief breaks in a car, he should not be able to pull wires and simply drive away. That however won't deter buyers from buying those cheap fuel-efficient cars.

Honda Civic is a lame car to have that honor. It is the ease with which one can steal it makes it attractive for thieves to steal. Then it is a very common car and there is a market for second hand spare parts etc.
